These Orange County dog beach photos in San Clemente for JD were special. Mom knew they were going to be saying goodbye to JD soon. He had hemgiosarcoma (a type of cancer, which my senior dog also passed from 8 months ago).

Senior dogs are THE BEST, aren’t they? They are my favorites to photograph. I feel they are so wise, loving and ready to please. JD definitely was right beside mom ready to do whatever we needed him to.
JD and his mom are a very special duo as they (and JD’s dad) started a non-profit called Dogs on Deployment that helps military pet parents find a foster if they are not able to take their pet with them on deployment.

Being a military brat myself, I know what deployment is like. My dad was gone often for many months and sometimes had to leave without much notice. This is such an important help to match up military members’ pets in need of a temporary foster!
Especially on this Veteran’s Day, I want to give a special thank you to all our military who have ever served. You are appreciated!
My heart breaks for JD’s mom as he has now passed. I hope these special Orange County dog beach photos will be treasured always and help their family as they remember their very special boy.
