As more and more pet parents view their animal as a family member, not just a pet, they go to great lengths to seek out special products and meaningful ways to remember them. As shared in a recent post, I discovered a way to create custom dog memorial art in trying to commemorate my own loved dog, Jack, that passed over a year ago. I developed a solution for taking all the memory keepsakes I had of him and creatively putting them into ONE classy piece as an honorable remembrance of his life.

Just like me, Mumford’s mom was trying to do the same: “Thank you so much for this priceless gift to help commemorate Mumford. It’s been hard to find ways to share the pieces I have left and this is beautiful and so special…” – Katie

This Custom Dog Memorial Art was created a year after Mumford’s passing. It consists of a handmade etching on the right, which was created from their photo and infused with Mumford’s ashes (more on how the etchings are made HERE). To the left of the etching is Mumford’s pawprint (that Katie mailed me to be scanned and reprinted on thick, gray paper) and adhered next to the etching. Above the paw print is a wax seal with letter “M” for Mumford which has a tiny bit of his ash in the seal. Lastly, a clipping of Mumford’s fur is tied lovingly with thread and included in this keepsake collage.

Now Katie has all momentos she’s got left of her best buddy now ready to honor and remember him. Her artwork came double matted and ready for her to choose an 11×14 frame to suit her home decor style.

Why shouldn’t we be able to savor every last memory we have in a tangible commemoration every day? I sure hope it helps heal her heart as she chooses the perfect place to enjoy her Mumford for decades to come.
