When I share my life story with others, they drop their jaw in disbelief. I’ve been through a lot. BUT the one thing I’ve always known for certain is my love of animals, and of their great ability to love me right back.
It all started with one little nose and 27 whiskers—my cat, Jake, aka Greyboy.
The darkest, scariest times. The mistrust, the betrayal. The years of fear. What rose above ALL that was Jake’s constant companionship. His unconditional love. The way, no matter what was on the other end of that phone, Jake laid in my lap and listened. As crazy as things got, he would purrrrrr and remind me to be in the moment. The world surrounding me felt out of control, but with Jake I knew I’d have a loving helper, almost a caretaker of my soul to calm me.
At the end of Jake’s life, it became apparent just how great a role he had in my life. And – how I’d like to remember him always.
Through this journey of loss and love I’ve realized I’d like to help others remember their animal soulmate / their therapy dog or cat and to help convey that message of pets as companions / pets as therapists. I’d like to give others hope and healing through art whether that be with a handmade pet etching transforming one’s own favorite snapshot into a handcrafted piece of fine art OR with a pet photo session where I actually come to your home and listen to your own story while photographing that wiggly or shy animal soulmate of yours.
I’d love to hear YOUR story and create portraits to help you remember and appreciate your best friend for decades to come.
I combine my love for pets, my own story and my 20+ years of professional experience in graphic design and photography to help you remember your special companion with beautiful, timeless art you can enjoy for years to come.
Get in touch and tell me YOUR story. I’m listening…
Does my “Zoo” sound like any of your furry buddies?
1. Stuart – a shy loner Maine Coon mix that is wholly devoted to his mama/me!
2. Jack – a feisty Min Pin / Chi Mix that no one likes except me (and my mom!). He’s had a rough life but has come a LONG way! He smells and doesn’t know any commands or would ever think of obeying them! He’s actually no longer with us in body but in spirit he sure is! R.I.P. buddy!
3. Willow – our lab/shep Mix with more silly nicknames than you can think of. She’s our “good” girl (even with a tendency to steal and wipe out a loaf of banana bread made from scratch).
4. Paris – believed to be the original “grumpy cat.” She’s evil. But she does have a tight bond with my hubby who thinks she can do no wrong! Ha!
go ahead and brag
I’d love to hear about YOUR companion!
Drop me a line (include a snapshot if you’d like) and start bragging! I’m ready to listen….
